After graduating from high school, Ricky needed a job, so he began working for a flooring company. It was not what he thought he was going to do, but he quickly realized that he enjoyed it. Unlike other installers who cared more about lunch breaks or leaving the project early, he wanted to learn everything he could about installing tile. He asked questions like, “Why are you doing it this way?” and “What benefits are there from doing it that way?” He was always looking for opportunities to do things better and more efficiently. It got to the point where his mentor told him that one day he would be working for Ricky.

In 2003, Ricky co-founded In Line Flooring. Within just a few years, In Line Flooring’s unique method of flooring installation had revolutionized the flooring installation industry by drastically reducing installation time with almost zero items on the punch list.

In 2010, in an effort to streamline the flooring experience while providing an even more cost-effective service, Ricky and his team expanded into soft flooring. Today, almost two decades later, In Line Flooring has grown to be seen by many General Contractors in Hawaii as their true flooring partner. In Line Flooring’s relationship over job approach has greatly assisted projects to be completed on time and on budget.

Ricky has laid the blueprint for the culture of our company. He leads by example for the next generation of our workers, and his dedication to upholding values and relationships will ho’omau through the heart of In Line Flooring.
